The position round officially marks the halfway mark of the league and with it came very little change, with only two teams managing to switch places in the league standings. The current leaders have moved way out ahead of the rest of the pack begging the question – can anyone stop them? We have two more months to find out.In the battle for first place, anchorless Bowltron continues to rack up wins and did so this week at the expense of defending champions Will Strike if Provoked. Led by John Boren and his 638 series, 'tron took the series 3-1 and improved to a 25-7 record (the 5th best first half record in league history) to remain in first place, a full 6.5 games ahead of Will Strike, led this week by Phil Schroeder's pre-bowled 591 series, who continue to cling to 2nd place at 18.5-13.5.Down a pair on lanes 43 & 44, Breaking Bad nearly exacted their revenge from their previous meeting with Bewbie Dance by taking them for a 3-1 matchup victory. Led by Kody Karnes and his league leading 645 series, Bad improved to 17-15 and remain in 4th place. The Bewbies, who still remain in 3rd place, were led this week by Carl Goetz' 591 series and end the night with a record of 18-14. In a surprising upset, the Gutterfingers put it to Split It and Hit It to take the night with a 3-1 win in the battle between the 5th and 6th place teams. Gutterfingers, led jointly by Scott Murdock and AJ Hofmann (both with a 490 series), became the lone team to advance in the league standings Tuesday night, leapfrogging the now 6th place Split It to take over the 5th place spot. The Gutterfingers improve to 15.5-16.5 while Split It and Hit It sits directly behind them at 15-17. Dennis Blake and his 519 series led the way for Split It in the losing effort. The position round was certainly Steve Kohlmeyer's night. Although led by anchor Eric Lynch's 446 series, it was Kohlmeyer's above-average output that made the different for Even Brunker Than Defore's victories over Ballz Out. Steve's career 429 high series was enough to not only make him this week's Most Valuable Bowler but also earned him #1 Power Ranked bowler honors as well in his team's 3-1 win over their competition. Despite Even Brunker remaining in 8th place, they improve their record to 7-25. Ballz Out, led by anchor Cliff Barendsen's 558 series, clings to 7th place with a record of 12-20.The Tournament of Champions results: Division 1 = Carl Goetz (13), Ryan Doll (13)Division 2 = Angela Bradford (10), Jonathan Vigliaturo (9)Division 3 = Freda Schroeder (13), Bryan Mohr (11)Division 4 = Michael Smith (15), Steve Kohlmeyer (12)This week's The 200 Club: Aubrey Moren (222), Bill Krejci (200, 222), Bryan Mohr (212), Carl Goetz (216), Cliff Barendsen (206), John Boren (213, 245), Jonathan Vigliaturo (204), Ken M. Wilson (223), Kody Karnes (246, 200), and Phil Schroeder (231).Nominations for this season's Hall of Fame ballot and now closed. Three of the four Screening Committee members – minus Ken who has stepped down temporarily due to a conflict of interest – will now decide which up-to-six bowlers will appear on this season's ballot to be revealed next week.See you next Tuesday!
