Sisco Flattens Friend and Foe

Posted by ScooterJ March 7, 2023 Spring 2023, Week 7 View Score Sheets

As we near the midpoint of the season, tonight we saw one bowler roll a new personal best game. (Hint, that's his steamroller.) JoAnne Barber somehow managed to pick up this week's high game (119) and series (327) for the woman despite having an off night. Among bowlers who carry an extra bag of balls with them, Ryan Sisco crushed pretty much everybody as he snagged this week's high game with a 231, and high series was earned by Kent Harms with a 580.

Before we get into tonight's details: The rebuild of the lane approaches is back on the calendar after a new contractor was found. Tentatively we are likely to need to skip the final Tuesday of March, which will push the remaining schedule back one week. We won't make this official on our schedule until it is set in stone. That should happen in about a week.

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: In a fairly closely-matched lineup, Glory Bowl occasionally picked up and cupped the balls of varoious members of I Thought This Was AA? before setting them back down and handling their own balls. Charging into the fray behind Kent Harms with his above-average 580 series, the G-Holers split the series with the Bowlaholics. Jim Koger with his better-than-normal 424 series ruled the bowlaholics as they matched their opponent in wins. Glory Bowl remains in 2nd place, while the bowlaholics sink 1 spot to 5th.

TV's Flipper cheered the Sun Dolphins from the Great Tuna Net in the Sky.

On lanes 3 & 4: Normally a matchup between these teams might be considered unfairly imbalanced. And it was, just not the way that one might expect. Just Shitty Enough expected to slaughter the Sun Dolphins, but despite of the prowess of Seth Gunderson with his 548 series, Just Shitty accomplished only 1 win against Dolphins. Sporting the cleanest, most powerful blowhole of the bunch #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Ryan Sisco and his wonderful 563 series oversaw Dolphins as his team took the match with 3 wins. Just Shitty Enough lives up to its namesake by holding onto 1st place solely by total pins, while Dolphins remain in 6th but at least made Flipper proud.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Balderdash alternated between bowling and dry humping Let's Split Up Gang!. Showcasing Matthew Taylor with his 542 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Michael Gordon, Bald Boys collected 3 wins against the splitter-uppers. Simultaneously, James Tott with his better-than-normal 500 series motivated the splitter-uppers despite his team notching only a single win. Balderdash climbs 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the splitter-uppers remain in 3rd.

Bowlers lying in their own vomit on the restroom floor at The 200 Club include: Brett Affolter (229), Carl Goetz (221), Jonathan Vigliaturo (211), Kent Harms (221,202), Ryan Sisco (231), and Seth Gunderson (204)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Ryan Sisco (231, previous best 221).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Matthew Taylor came closest), while Kent Harms shut down Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 3 as it was a complete embarassment, and Ryan Sisco mopped up Division 4. In terms of overall points: Matthew Taylor calls the shots for Division 1; Kent Harms holds the reins in Division 2; Nathan Burrows leads Division 3; and Jim Koger and Ryan Sisco top Division 4 in a tie.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 1st-place Just Shitty Enough will hang out with 3rd-place Let's Split Up Gang! (hcp 105). Just Shitty is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the splitter-uppers are forecast to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 2nd-place Glory Bowl (hcp 65) will test their mettle against 4th-place Balderdash. The G-Holers might roll a little low and get swept; while Bald Boys ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 5th-place I Thought This Was AA? will compete against 6th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 31). The bowlaholics are predicted to have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to sweep the series; while Dolphins are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
