The ninth resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings... but just barely. A single missed pin left by the very last ball rolled of the night kept last week's surprise first place team in first place another week by the narrowest margin possible. In addition, one bowler set a new personal best series and a new personal high game. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (138) and series (410) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (244) and series (617) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: ChuckaScoot might have been expected to make easy work of Flamboyant Fluffykins, but strong performances by #1 Head-to-Head Dustin Schmeltz and his better-than-normal 579 series #1 Power-Ranked Brandon Martinez held the match at a draw. The Scoot chuckers were led by Carl Goetz with his above-average 617 series as they split the series with Flamboyant. ChuckaScoot remains in 2nd place, while Flamboyant remains in 5th.

On lanes 3 & 4: Splits & Giggles attempted to deliver menacing stares toward The Wally McWallingtons. Although charging into the fray behind Luke Melton with his dazzling 482 series, Giggles accomplished only 1 win against The McWallingtons. While that was going down, Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock and his better-than-normal 536 series oversaw TheMcWallingtons as much of his team saw improvement and took the match with 3 wins. Splits & Giggles remains in 6th place, while The McWallingtons remain in 4th.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Glory Bowl spent some quality time with Going, Going, BALD!. In spite of the leadership of Nicholas Knight with his above-average 436 series, Glory missed getting swept by Baldness by just one pin. Dennis Walling with his slightly-off 505 series guided Baldness as his team took the match with 3.5 wins. It was the lone missed pin in Matthew Taylor's game 3 10th frame that ended the game in a tie, allowing Glory Bowl to just barely remain in 1st place instead of being overtaken by Chuckascoot, while Baldness remain in 3rd.

Bowlers who passed out in their Ubers after a rough night at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (244,212), Dustin Schmeltz (204), Matthew Taylor (244), and Scott Murdock (216)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Brandon Martinez (157, previous best 146). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Brandon Martinez (407, previous best 378).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Jonathan Vigliaturo rolled his ass to the top of Division 1, while Dustin Schmeltz conquered Division 2. Luke Melton trounced Division 3, and Brandon Martinez got the better of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Matthew Taylor calls the shots for Division 1; Dustin Schmeltz is in the driver's seat in Division 2; JoAnne Barber governs Division 3; and Emily Nicolet runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

• First, on lanes 1&2, 6th-place Splits & Giggles (hcp 42) will face 1st-place Glory Bowl. Giggles are expected to maintain their current strength as they just barely win the series; while Glory is forecast to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
• Moving to lanes 3&4, 5th-place Flamboyant Fluffykins (hcp 133) will battle 3rd-place Going, Going, BALD!. Flamboyant might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Baldness ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
• Finally, on lanes 5&6, 4th-place The Wally McWallingtons (hcp 154) will throw some gutter balls with 2nd-place ChuckaScoot. The McWallingtons are predicted to have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Scoot Chuckers are anticipated to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
