The Midsummer 2021 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The fourth week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Lindsey Campbell picked up this week's high game (195) and series (416) for the women, while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (223) and series (571) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 11 & 12: With the narrowest of handicaps, AJ's Fault 2: The Fall of Scoot made use of apparently useless voodoo dolls resembling each member of Team 1. In spite of top-billing by James Tott with his below-average 534 series, AJ's Fault got swept by Team 1. On the other side of the tracks, Michael Gordon with his better-than-normal 571 series commanded Team 1 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Lindsey Campbell) as they swept the competition. AJ's Fault 2: Rise of the Tott drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Team 1 moves up 1 spot to 1st.
Over on lanes 13 & 14: Team 2 tussled with Team 4. Even though highlighted by the skills of #1 Head-to-Head AJ Hofmann and his above-average 556 series, Team 2 accomplished only 1 win against Team 4. Moving on to the challengers, Dustin Schmeltz with his better-than-normal 533 series called the shots for Team 4 as his team took the match with 3 wins. Team 2 remains in 3rd place, while Team 4 remains in 4th.
Bowlers lounging at The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (200), Dustin Schmeltz (204), James Tott (201), and Michael Gordon (223)
Lindsey Campbell earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 195 and 416, respectively.
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Michael Gordon came closest), while LaReash Bridges dominated Division 2. In terms of overall points: Michael Gordon is in the driver's seat in Division 1; and LaReash Bridges runs the show in Division 2.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 11&12, 2nd-place AJ's Fault 2: Rise of the Tott will roll against 4th-place Team 4 (hcp 107). AJ's Fault is expected to perform well and sweep the series; while Team 4 is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 13&14, 3rd-place Team 2 (hcp 25) will match wits with 1st-place Team 1. Team 2 is predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Team 1 is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
