So far this season, Scootylicious was the first team to take possession of First Place, and maintained its care for three weeks. Then last week they sold it to Pin Is King 3. But the King's coffers were empty and this week they defaulted on the loan, prompting the Bank of KLEAN BAWLZ!!1 to call in the loan and repossess the title.
Four teams climbed in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (178) and series (476) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (269) and series (654) for the men. (Next week is the midseason position round, so no NEW subs and no post-bowling!)
First up, on lanes 1 & 2: In a rather lopsided matchup, an AJ-less AJ's Fault faced off against the minions of Satan making up F. C. K. D.. Although charging into the fray behind AJ Hofmann with his pre-bowled 477 series, and Jeremy Varnell's numerous attempts to trick Duncan Ferber into pulling his finger, AJ's Fault accomplished only 1 win against The FCKD. On the flipside, Carl Goetz with his better-than-normal 654 series motivated The FCKD as his team took the match with 3 wins. AJ's Fault remains in 7th place while The FCKD moves up 1 spot to 5th, the highest they've been since week 2.
On lanes 3 & 4: Big Bowl Movements found themselves in the unfortunate position of being sacrificed to KLEAN BAWLZ!!1. In spite of top-billing by Conor Clarke with his 525 series, Movements accomplished only 1 win against BAWLZ. Over on the other side, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Aaron Barber and his better-than-normal 641 series showed off for BAWLZ as his team took the match with 3 wins. Big Bowl Movements drop 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while BAWLZ moves up 1 spot to their natural habitat: first place.
On lanes 5 & 6: A half-prebowled Whiles We Were Bowling... spent some VERY quality time with Pin Is King 3. With extra motivation generated by Bob Brunker with his 534 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Sandbagger Angela Bradford, Whiles Bowling collected a clean sweep over Kings. As this was happening, Dennis Walling with his better-than-normal 574 series commanded Kings despite his team getting swept. Whiles We Were Bowling... climbs 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Kings plunge 3 spots to 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: Low Expectations couldn't stop undressing the members of Scootylicious with their eyes. Don't try to deny it, they saw you. And they liked it. Anyway... in spite of the leadership of Stu Marthers with his above-average 534 series, Expectations accomplished only 1 win against 'Licious. In the meantime, Jeremy Cline with his 564 series laid down the law for 'Licious as his team took the match with 3 wins. Low Expectations remains in 8th place, while 'Licious moves back up 1 spot to 2nd.
Bowlers pretty enough to get past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (215,237), Bob Brunker (204), Carl Goetz (269), Dennis Walling (207), Jeremy Cline (205), Jonathan Vigliaturo (206), Ken M. Wilson (225), Matthew Taylor (211), and Scott Murdock (204)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Aaron Barber shut down Division 1, while Bob Brunker rolled his ass to the top of Division 2. Angela Bradford swept Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Jeremy Varnell came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz reigns over Division 1; Ken M. Wilson tops Division 2; Angela Bradford holds the reins in Division 3; and Jake Holterman calls the shots for Division 4.
NEXT WEEK IS THE MID-SEASON POSITION ROUND:
- First, on lanes 1&2, 1st-place KLEAN BAWLZ!!1 will hang out with 2nd-place Scootylicious (hcp 94). BAWLZ is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while 'Licious are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 3&4, 3rd-place Whiles We Were Bowling... (hcp 91) will face 4th-place Pin Is King 3. Whiles Bowling might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Kings ought to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 5&6, 5th-place F. C. K. D. will challenge 6th-place Big Bowl Movements (hcp 126). The FCKD will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while Movements will probably drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 7&8, 7th-place AJ's Fault will chill with 8th-place Low Expectations. AJ's Fault is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Expectations are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
