By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2019 position round and See you next Tuesday! holds a pretty strong lead heading into that. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The seventh week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Alison Radke landed this week's high game for the women with a 190, and women's high series was bagged by Mary Clarke with a 469. As for the men, Carl Goetz and Seth Gunderson both tied for this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 654. Read on for all the rest of the details!
Before we get into the results, our league account balance is now negative for the first time in several years. We have an unusually high number of bowlers who have not yet paid anything. I know each and every one of you are good for it, but we can't be running a negative balance. Please work on getting caught up on league dues.
First up, on lanes 3 & 4: In a pairing of two close team averages, Scared Splitless faced off against Rear Admirals. Dominated by Curtis Whiles with his above-average 513 series, Splitless split the series with Admirals. On the other half of the score sheet, Scott Murdock with his better-than-normal 527 series showed off for Admirals and helped save their total-pins win as they matched their opponent in wins. Scared Splitless remains in 7th place, while Admirals remain in 8th, where they are no longer the worst team in league history, just tied for worst.
On lanes 5 & 6: Pin Is King 2 took turns kicking the ball return with C.I.C.K. Ass 2. With top billing by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Matthew Taylor and his above-average 654 series, Kings collected 3 wins against CICK. Meanwhile, Carl Goetz with his 643 series shone in CICK despite his team notching only a single win. Pin Is King 2 climbs 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while CICK sinks 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 7 & 8: Bowl Movements had a delightful yet confusing time with BDE. First some background. Monday night, Bowl Movements post-bowled. When writing down the scores, they accidentally swapped Joe's and T(err)(on)y's scores on the written scoresheet. The policy of the bowling alley is to treat the written scoresheet as gospel, since many bowlers don't know how to make corrections in the computer. So Joe's high series Monday night was mistakenly factored into Terry's Tony's average for this week. As a result, the handicap shown on the screen last night was incorrect, and it altered the outcome. So, with all that explained.... Charging into the fray behind Conor Clarke with his above-average 503 series, Movements collected 2 3 wins against BDE. On the opposing side, Rob Kaszuba with his 477 series dominated BDE despite his team splitting the series notching only a single win. Bowl Movements remains in 6th place, while BDE remains in 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 9 & 10: See you next Tuesday! entered a showdown to the death with The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too. Reinforced by Seth Gunderson and Nick Kinney with their mutual 583 series, Next Tuesday collected 3 wins against James Tott School for B's. So what went on with the other team? Well, AJ Hofmann with his slightly-off 405 series inspired James Tott School for B's despite his team notching only a single win. See you next Tuesday! remains in 1st place, while James Tott School for B's remain in 5th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (200,246), Dennis Walling (223), Ian Goetz (202,215,220), Ken M. Wilson (201), Matthew Taylor (203,236,215), Michael Gordon (223), Nick Kinney (202,240), and Seth Gunderson (246)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Matthew Taylor walloped Division 1, while Rob Kaszuba mopped up Division 2. Conor Clarke conquered Division 3, and Tony Marin creamed Division 4. In terms of overall points: Michael Gordon dominates Division 1; Seth Gunderson holds the reins in Division 2; Conor Clarke tops Division 3; and Jared Nuhn and Dennis Cummings reign over Division 4 in a tie.
BOWLING THRU TIME results are now available here!.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 3&4, 1st-place See you next Tuesday! (hcp 28) will chuck some balls with 2nd-place Pin Is King 2. Next Tuesday is expected to roll a little low and get swept; while Kings are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 5&6, 3rd-place C.I.C.K. Ass 2 will meet with 4th-place BDE (hcp 172). CICK might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while BDE ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 7&8, 5th-place The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too will socialize with 6th-place Bowl Movements (hcp 33). James Tott School for B's will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Movements will probably drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 9&10, 7th-place Scared Splitless (estimated hcp 11) will face 8th-place Rear Admirals. Splitless are predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Admirals are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
