You'd think we wouldn't be welcoming a new bowler into the league in Week 10, but hey, this is the Fall 2016 season so anything goes. And, in typical Fall 2016 season, the team he was going to bowl on didn't show up. But that's okay, he got to kick ass for another team instead.
First up, on lanes 7 & 8: W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! sparred with O'Dell Lawn Service. Led by Most Valuable Bowler Landon Cline and his 617 series, W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! secured a clean sweep over O'Dell Lawn Service. Meanwhile, despite a second consecutive #1 power ranked bowler performance by Jeremy Gregory and his 585 series, O'Dell Lawn Service got swept. W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! climbs 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while O'Dell Lawn Service remains in 5th.
On lanes 9 & 10: Half of Vote JV HoF 2016 did battle with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Led by Carl Goetz and his 641 series, Vote JV HoF 2016 secured 3 wins against Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Meanwhile, led by Aubrey Moren and his 584 series, Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! could only secure 1 win. Vote JV HoF 2016 remains in 1st place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 4th.
On lanes 11 & 12: After much effort, we (via Michael Gordon) finally found a good replacement team member for Split It & Hit It in the form of new bowler Aaron Salisbury. He's good, he's eager, he's reliable, and he's a nice guy. So what does Split It do? Fail to show up and forfeit. So Aaron moved a pair of lanes over to sub for Matt O'Dell instead. This was welcome news for Terra Bowl, who is in need of a few wins. Led by Tim Deddens and his 420 series, Terra Bowl secured 3 wins against Split It & Hit It. Wait, just 3? That's right, they still lost game 3... and it's on every single one of them that that happened. Terra Bowl remains in 7th place, while Split It & Hit It remains in 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 13 & 14: Stephen Hawking's Fight Club sat down for crumpets and tea with Ray & Stevie. Led by sub Aaron Salisbury and his 616 series, Stephen Hawking's Fight Club only managed to win 2 games. But it's not because of the sub, he helped them. Had they carried Matt's average, they'd have only won one game!
This week in Tournament of Champions, Landon Cline topped Division 1 but hasn't earned enough points yet to place. Jere,y Gregory is now running away with Division 2 and may be unstoppable. No one won Division 3, Russell Bingham came closest but isn't placing yet either. And in Division 4, no one won but Ben Spencer came closest and moves into second place.
Bowlers entering The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Salisbury (234,216), Carl Goetz (223,247), Jeremy Gregory (205,206), and Landon Cline (214,212)
See you next week!
