Posted by BowlingBot March 11, 2025 Spring 2025, Week 6 View Score Sheets

The sixth week of Spring 2025 was a battlefield of triumph and heartbreak, as two teams clawed their way up the standings while two others stumbled. Amid the chaos, one bowler shattered a personal best series, while another reached a new high game. JoAnne Barber reigned supreme among the women, claiming the week’s high game (124) and series (326), while Aaron Barber dominated the men’s side with a scorching 248 high game and an unstoppable 615 series. By the time the dust settled, the two teams with F-acronyms for names bookended the standings as the Squids found themselves sinking ever so slightly. Read on for all the F-ing details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: A fierce rivalry ignited as Bowls Deep clashed with . Fueled by Ian Estey's solid 540 series, Bowls Deep fought valiantly and managed to split the series with Team Name Loading. Meanwhile, AJ Hofmann, wielding his mighty 521 series, led Team Name Loading in a hard-fought battle to even the score. While neither team could claim true victory, Bowls Deep emerged with enough fire to climb one spot to 4th place, while Team Name Loading remains steadfast in 3rd.

Seriously, can we stop making the Kittens sad every week? It breaks my heart!

On lanes 3 & 4: A catastrophe unfolded for FFK as they were mercilessly swept by FILPB. Despite Dustin Schmeltz's valiant 481 series, the Kittens found themselves utterly declawed, unable to claim a single win. Meanwhile, Aaron Barber delivered a tour de force performance, his unstoppable 615 series crushing all opposition as Eff It seized a flawless sweep. The energy in their camp was electric, as Eff It celebrated their "commanding" rise to 1st place, (thanks in large part to that 0.5 they earned as their only non-loss in Week 4) while FFK was left reeling, still stranded in 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: It was a showdown of heroes and villains as the menacing forces of Squid Row took on the noble souls of Gutterly Hopeless. With the unstoppable force of Most Valuable Bowler Chris Windham and his fiery 558 series, Squid Row sank their opponents in three fierce battles, reveling in their hard-earned triumph. But even in the face of near-total defeat, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Chris Lenz put up a valiant fight with a chilling 520 series, managing to snatch a lone victory for Hopeless. But the tides were cruel—Squid Row slid one spot down to 2nd, while Hopeless sank deeper into despair, dropping to 5th.

Bowlers who were on the list for The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (248), Chris Windham (247), Matthew Taylor (206), and Nick Kinney (210)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Chris Windham (247, previous best 224). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Chris Windham (558, previous best 556).

Adding to the excitement, the 248 rolled by Aaron Barber is this season's new high game for men.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nick Kinney swept Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Scott Murdock came closest). Chris Lenz eradicated Division 3, and Cat Atwood won Division 4. In terms of overall points: Ian Estey governs Division 1; Nathan Burrows tops Division 2; Tim Deddens and Buck Nasty reign over Division 3 in a tie; and Jacob Holst holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 1st-place FILPB will compete against 5th-place Gutterly Hopeless (hcp 120). Eff It is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to just barely win the series; while Hopeless are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 2nd-place Squid Row will hang out with 3rd-place (hcp 80). Squid might roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Team Name Loading ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 4th-place Bowls Deep (hcp 36) will match wits with 6th-place FFK. DEEEEEEP is predicted to roll decently and sweep the series; while Kittens are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
