GoodKnight!

Posted by BowlingBot September 3, 2024 Fall 2024, Week 2 View Score Sheets

The second week of Fall 2024 unfolded with tension and excitement, as one team ascended the ranks while another plummeted. JoAnne Barber dazzled with this week's high game (127) and series (360) for the woman, while Matthew Taylor dominated for the men with a high game (255) and series (570). But the big story tonight was both a new personal best game and series by Nicholas Knight that played a huge role in his team crushing their competition. Dive into the details to experience the full thrill of the action, and be sure to check out this week's Bingo results too!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: Unnamed Team 5—temporarily dubbed Team Hawk Tuah since they haven't selected a name—clashed with Scootytang. Riding the wings of Kent Harms' impressive 545 series and with a clutch performance by Most Valuable Bowler Nicholas Knight, Team Hawk Tuah soared to victory, sweeping Scootytang off their feet. The excitement was palpable as they ascended to 1st place in the standings, their confidence sky-high. On the flip side, despite Seth Gunderson's stellar 557 series, Scootytang found themselves utterly grounded, suffering a crushing defeat that sent them spiraling down two spots to 3rd place.

These are Squid pins! You're not stealing them today! Well, maybe one...

On lanes 3 & 4: The mighty beasts of Squid Row took on the hopeful underdogs of Stealing Pins in the Burrows in a dramatic faceoff. Matthew Taylor, with his show-stopping 570 series, led the charge, bolstered by #1 Head-to-Head and #1 Power-Ranked Dennis Walling. Mmmm Calimari, as Squid Row is affectionately called, swam away with 3 victories, their excitement palpable as they remain steady in 2nd place. Pin Thieves, led by a determined JoAnne Barber with her 360 series, fought valiantly but only managed to steal one win. Their dreams of a higher standing are slipping, as they hold tight to 5th place, but the disappointment looms large.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: In a nail-biting showdown, Sun Dolphins battled fiercely against Unnamed Team 3—this week whimsically called the Happy Little Eunuchs since they also refuse to come up with a name. With Scott Thompson’s above-average 452 series leading the charge, the Dolphins leaped to secure 3 crucial wins, their spirits buoyed by the taste of victory as they held steady in 4th place. On the other side, Dustin Schmeltz's commanding 461 series wasn't enough to lift the Eunuchs to glory, as they managed to snatch just one win. The Eunuchs remain limp in 6th, determined to keep swimming despite their lack of swimmers.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (221), Matthew Taylor (255), Nicholas Knight (220), and Seth Gunderson (203)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Nicholas Knight (220, previous best 210). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Nicholas Knight (537, previous best 508).

JoAnne Barber earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 127 and 360, respectively. In addition, Matthew Taylor nabbed both high game and series for the men this season with his 255 and 570, respectively.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 5th-place Unnamed Team 3 (estimated hcp 91) will chill with 1st-place Squid Row. The Unnamed is expected to perform well and win the series; while Bowling Calimari is forecast to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 4th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 65) will match wits with 2nd-place Unnamed Team 5. Dolphins might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while The Unnamed (Batch 2) ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 6th-place Stealing Pins in the Burrows (estimated hcp 165) will socialize with 3rd-place Scootytang. Stealing Pins are predicted to roll decently, yet still manage to get swept; while Scootytang is anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
