Tuesdays Are 37.5% Normal Again

Posted by ScooterJ September 16, 2020 Fall 2020, Week 1 View Score Sheets

With the bowling alley resuming regular hours this week, the Fall 2020 Mini Season is finally underway. Four teams have entered the 8-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy, as well as the equally-nonexistent cash awards since we have decided to forgo those for such a small group.

JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (130) and series (340) for the women woman. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 248, and high series was earned by Michael Gordon with a 633. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: LETITSNOW shared a platter of cheese sticks with Three Blind Strikes. Showcasing Scott Murdock with his 525 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler AJ Hofmann, Le Tits, Now felt the glory of a clean sweep over Blind Strikes. Concurrently, Curtis Whiles with his 447 series commanded Blind Strikes despite his team getting swept (barely). Le tits now pop out in 1st place, while Blind Strikes feel their way to 4th.

It was kind of nice having the place to ourselves, until Wabash League showed up at 7:30.

On lanes 19 & 20: The socially-distanced Six Games Apart shared as few respiratory droplets as possible with Six Games Apart, But Better. Demonstrating the prowess of #1 Power-Ranked (but 300-game-blowing) Michael Gordon and his 633 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler Matthew Taylor, 6 Games collected 3 wins against But Better. On the other lane, Aaron Barber dished up a nutritious 493 series for But Better despite his team notching only a single win as they waited in the lunch line at the florida maids. Six Games Apart begins the season in 2nd place, but But Better begins in 3rd.

Bowlers who flaunted mask guidelines while visiting The 200 Club include: Dennis Walling (248), Matthew Taylor (214), and Michael Gordon (220,247)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Michael Gordon mopped up Division 1, while Scott Murdock topped Division 2. In terms of overall points: Michael Gordon runs the show in Division 1; and Scott Murdock tops Division 2.

It should be noted that since we started the ToC in Week 1 this season in order to maximize game play, week 1 was based on what average each bowler had the last time they bowled. Starting week 2 we will be using THIS season's averages for handicap scoring.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 17&18, 2nd-place Six Games Apart will tussle with 1st-place LETITSNOW (hcp 113). 6 Games are expected to watch their averages take a plunge as they get swept; while Le Tits, Now is forecast to drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Six Games Apart, But Better will match wits with 4th-place Three Blind Strikes (hcp 36). But Better is predicted to roll a little low, but split the series with Blind Strikes; while Blind Strikes are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

  FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"SCOOOT!!! It's unfortunate that I am not allowed to hump you during these times. I want you to know, though, I'll be role-playing it later tonight with the wife."

Aaron Barber, disturbing JoAnne more than he disturbed Scoot.
