When A Ball Loves A Rack (of Pins)

Posted by ScooterJ October 29, 2019 Fall 2019, Week 11 View Score Sheets

The eleventh week of Fall 2019 saw the second known marriage of two league bowlers (the first being Derek Jeter and Amanda Cox-Jeter sometime back in the W Bush era). It also saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (186) and series (470) for the women. As for the men, Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 223, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 614. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 3 & 4: After floundering in the first two games, Rear Admirals deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of See you next Tuesday!. Showcasing Freda Schroeder with her above-average 470 series, with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Jared Nuhn, Admirals split the series with Next Tuesday. Simultaneously, Seth Gunderson with his 546 series inspired Next Tuesday as they matched their opponent in wins. Rear Admirals remains in 6th place, while Next Tuesday remains in 1st.

"As it has been throughout the ages, tonight you will need to make your 'O' face. Like this."

On lanes 5 & 6: BDE hoped to be able to outperform Pin Is King 2. Despite being led by Jeremy Cline with his 533 series, BDE got swept by Kings. In the midst of this, Dennis Walling with his 514 series coronated the Kings (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Ben Spencer) as they swept the competition. BDE drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Kings remain in 3rd.

On lanes 7 & 8: Remembering to flush, C.I.C.K. Ass 2 stood smiling proudly as they watched Bowl Movements circle the drain. With top billing by Ken M. Wilson with his 614 series, CICK not only achieved a thorough clean wiping of the BMs, I could swear I saw them but a bidet into action as well.. In the meantime, Conor Clarke with his slightly-off 424 series guided Movements down the plumbing despite his team getting swept. C.I.C.K. Ass 2 remains in 2nd place, while Movements remain in 7th.

Finally, down on lanes 9 & 10: With closely-matched team strength, The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too entered a showdown to the death with Scared Splitless. Featuring a sickly but a little late inspired#1 Head-to-Head AJ Hofmann and his above-average 507 series, the School for B's split the series with Splitless. Meanwhile Curtis Whiles with his better-than-normal 524 series emboldened Splitless as they matched their opponent in wins. The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too climbs 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Splitless remain in 8th.

Bowlers who flashed their nipples to get let into The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (217,201), Curtis Whiles (211), Dennis Walling (204), Ian Goetz (217,223), Jeremy Cline (203), and Ken M. Wilson (207,210)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 1 as it was a complete embarassment, while Seth Gunderson mopped up Division 2. Curtis Whiles swept Division 3, and Jared Nuhn vanquished Division 4. In terms of overall points: Michael Gordon calls the shots for Division 1; Scott Murdock and Rob Kaszuba are both in the driver's seat (on each other's laps?) in Division 2 in a tie; Conor Clarke holds the reins in Division 3; and Jared Nuhn runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 3&4, 2nd-place C.I.C.K. Ass 2 will tussle with 4th-place The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too (hcp 191). CICK is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while James Tott School for B's are forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 5&6, 7th-place Bowl Movements (estimated hcp 13) will chuck some balls with 8th-place Scared Splitless. Movements might roll a little low and get swept; while Splitless ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 7&8, 6th-place Rear Admirals (hcp 24) will throw some gutter balls with 5th-place BDE. Admirals will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while BDE will probably drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 9&10, 1st-place See you next Tuesday! (hcp 9) will battle 3rd-place Pin Is King 2. Next Tuesday is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Kings are anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
