The only movement in the standings this week came when two teams in the middle of the standings traded places. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (191) and series (556) for the women, while Aubrey Moren earned this week's high game (248) and series (672) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 3 & 4: Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! cowered in sheer terror upon discovering they were rolling against HOF Sandwich. But their fear quickly proved unfounded. Strengthened by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Aubrey Moren and his astonishing 672 series, the Sandbaggers collected 3 wins against the Sandwich. As for the Bob-less HoFers, Kody Karnes with his 591 series was the mustard on the Sandwich despite his team notching only a single win. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 6th place, while the Sandwich remains in 3rd.
On lanes 5 & 6: In a battle of good against evil, the wicked Splitbowl Countries waged a heated competition against the unlikely heroes of Three Strikes and a Spare. Charging into the fray behind Russell Bingham with his below-average 518 series, Splitbowl accomplished only 1 win against Three Strikes. (Thus allowing Witness!!! to gain more first-place ground.) On the other lane, James Tott and Monica Hufford with their cutely-matched 452 series (like two peas in a pod) took charge of Three Strikes as their team took the match with 3 wins. Splitbowl Countries remains in 2nd place, while Three Strikes remain in 7th.
On lanes 7 & 8: Suffering from a temporary degunderfication, WITNESS!!! entered a showdown to the death with Sit Down, Be Humbowl. Showcasing Aaron Barber with his 617 series, Witness!!! collected 3 wins against Humbowl. On the adjacent lane, Brian Byfield with his fantastic 527 series rallied Humbowl despite his team notching only a single win. WITNESS!!! remains in 1st place, while Humbowl remains in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 9 & 10: With the scales heavily tipped in one team's favor from the outset, the big bullies of Mary Janes Last Frame Michaelessly chucked gutter balls with the scrappy underdogs PBR Me, ASAP. With top billing by Dennis Walling with his 532 series, Mary Jane collected 3 wins against PBR. While that was going down, Jeremy Varnell with his 403 series called the shots for PBR despite his team notching only a single win. Mary Janes Last Frame finally returns to the top half of the league by climbing 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while PBR sinks 1 spot to 5th. (Incidentally, Pat Hamell's jump from 95 in game 2 to 202 in game 3 just barely didn't make the cut for Largest Swings In-Between Games.)
Bowlers who flashed their boobs to get let into The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (212,226), Aubrey Moren (234,248), Brian Byfield (224), Dennis Laube (216), Dennis Walling (210), Kody Karnes (231), Pat Hamell (202), and Russell Bingham (204)
A new personal high game was set tonight by Pat Hamell (202, previous best 176).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Aubrey Moren routed Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Steven Anthony came closest). Freda Schroeder crushed Division 3, and Emily Nicolet rolled her ass to the top of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Aubrey Moren runs the show in Division 1; Scott Murdock dominates Division 2; Freda Schroeder holds the reins in Division 3; and Emily Nicolet calls the shots for Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 3&4, 1st-place WITNESS!!! will socialize with 4th-place Mary Janes Last Frame (hcp 13). Witness!!! is expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Mary Jane is forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 5&6, 8th-place Sit Down, Be Humbowl will spend some quality time with 5th-place PBR Me, ASAP (hcp 62). Humbowl might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while PBR ought to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 7&8, 6th-place Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! (hcp 31) will battle 2nd-place Splitbowl Countries. The Sandbaggers will likely have a bit of an off night, but split the series with Splitbowl; while Splitbowl will probably drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 9&10, 3rd-place HOF Sandwich will tussle with 7th-place Three Strikes and a Spare (hcp 171). The Sandwich is predicted to roll a little low, yet still manage to sweep the series; while Three Strikes are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
