The first week of our 33rd season began with lots of laughter and reunions, progressed through lots of beer, and ended with four teams rubbing their sore butts.First up, on lanes 41 & 42, a 404: Team Name Not Found suffering from 50% their normal level of Seans launched the season with a half-rookied Bowies In Space. Led by Scott Murdock and his 479 series, Team Name Not Found managed only 1 win against Bowies In Space. Meanwhile, Aaron Barber and his 607 series led Bowies In Space to 3 wins before floating off in a tin can. 404: Team Name Not Found debuts in 6th place, while Bowies In Space debuts in 2nd.
On lanes 43 & 44 Bowlgasmic had a rendezvous with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Kody Karnes led Bowlgasmic with a controversial 612 series (the lanes shut off as he was making his final roll, which may have distracted him and affected the outcome) to 1 win against Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. On the other side of the ball return, a definitely not sandbagging Phil Schroeder dominated Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! with a 522 series to gain 3 wins. Bowlgasmic debuts in 5th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! debuts in 3rd.
On lanes 45 & 46, a Russelly-reinvigorated Split It & Hit It received an unsolicited Glory Bowl visit. Led by Russell Bingham and his 553 series, Split It & Hit It secured 3 wins against Glory Bowl. Led by Tim Deddens and his 409 series, the half-present Glory Bowl (missing its Fingers) could only penetrated one victory. Split It & Hit It begins the season in 4th place, while Glory Bowl starts in 7th.
Finally, down on lanes 47 & 4, Fallop Ian took turns kicking the ball return with Split Sisters. Led by visiting namesake Ian Goetz and his 588 series, Fallop Ian secured a clean sweep over Split Sisters. With their backs against the far wall, Amber Waddle ruled the Sisters with her 375 series, but couldn't get any wins out of it. Fallop Ian begins in 1st place, sigh, while Split Sisters starts in 8th.
