Full of Turkey, No One Wants to Move

Posted by ScooterJ November 24, 2015 Fall 2015, Week 13 View Score Sheets

Turkey week saw lots of turkeys but no movement in the standings, likely due to everyone being overloaded on tryptophan.First up, on lanes 41 & 42: Andrew Finger led It's A Trap! to a sweep against the blind team with his 518 series. However, a big assist came from Dennis Cummings. Last week Dennis noticed that he bowled better taking his glasses off, so he tried it again this week and earned Most Valuable Bowler. It's A Trap! remains in 7th place, while Ray & Stevie remains in 8th.

Spermy the Sperm Whale, the new mascot for Hold My Beer, Watch This. Their games improved after he was kicked away.

404: Team Name Not Found apparently has the biggest balls in the league, because for the last 4 weeks their balls have jammed the ball return on each pair of lanes they've rolled. Tonight it took an extended delay and power tools to get their balls out of the channel. With their balls freed, Team Name Not Found hoped to turn the tide on being on the losing end of a season-long beer-and-pizza bet with Hold My Beer, Watch This. But, as usual when led by Scott Murdock (with a 537 series this time), 404 managed only 1 win. Aaron Barber, who at one point literally did a "Hold My Beer, Watch This" while clearing a ball jam, improved from his recent wrist pain but it was Kody Karnes who led his team to 3 wins with a 618 series. 404: Team Name Not Found remains in 6th place, while Hold My Beer, Watch This remains in 5th. Scoot owes a third pitcher of beer so far this season next week, and this week's outcome also guarantees Hold My Beer a pizza on Fun Week.

On lanes 45 & 46: Stephen Hawking's Dance Club set out to break the winning streak Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! has been on. Aubrey Moren, with his 581 series, ensured that Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! would earn the 3rd longest win streak in league history. But Russell Bingham decided enough was enough and used his 526 series to get a single win and break the streak. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 3rd place, while Stephen Hawking's Dance Club remains in 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48: A rarely-complete Split It & Hit It faced off against Salt Water Taffy. Todd Way turned out a 540 series, but couldn't muster a single win against that punk Ian Goetz and his #1 power ranked 684 series (including a new personal best game of 268). Salt Water Taffy secured a clean sweep, extending their lead by a game. Split It & Hit It remains in 4th place, while Salt Water Taffy remains in 1st.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Ian Goetz continues to dominate Division 1, though Aubrey Moren moved into 2nd. In Division 2, Dennis Laube probed that Dennis Blake is human but is still too far behind to place. Matt O'Dell pulled further ahead in Division 3, and Brian Walsh overtook the lead in Division 4.Bowlers who took a break from giblets and gravy to enter The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (214), Aubrey Moren (235), Carl Goetz (225,211), Dennis Laube (207), Ian Goetz (201,268,215), Kody Karnes (219,203), Phil Schroeder (224), and Russell Bingham (208)Next week is the last normal week before all of your fees for the season are due.
