On the week of Thanksgiving, the VML Bowling League gathered together to do battle on the second to last week before the Finals. As has been the case throughout the season, most teams stayed put in their respective spots in the standings with the exception of another flip-flop in 4th and 5th place. With eight games left to be played by each team in the league, it's a race to the finish line as teams try to overcome gaps between themselves and the team ahead of them. Ready to hear how Week #14 went down? Let's roll...After their split last week against the 2nd place team, the men of the Pin Pricks returned to their winning ways with a hard fought sweep against opponents Drink and Hurl. Led by David Codding and his 588 series, the Pricks made a miraculous comeback to take Game #1 before going on to take the rest of the series. Anchor Teresa Deterding provided the most fire power for the Hurlers, ending her evening with a 399 series. The Pricks stay in first place by 4.5 games while the Drinkers remain in 6th.Fighting to keep pace with the Pricks for their inevitable rematch in the Finals, the members of No Pinheads looked to this week's Most Valuable Bowler Dennis "Pops" Laube to deliver...and he did. Along with Aubrey Moren's team leading 538 series, Laube and the Pinheads doled out a 4-0 beat down on Bowl Movement Tuesday night to hold onto their 2nd place standing. The Movement, led this week by anchor Brian Cunningham's 440 series, fall one spot into 5th place. Facing the quietest team in the league this week was Kitten Mittons, who did battle against Ray & Stevie. With Kelly Sands dishing out a team-leading 474 series, the Mittons easily took all four games and returned to 4th place in the standings. The final matchup of the night found 3rd place Ground Zero Mosque doing battle with the members of Feed the Monkey. After surprising them in Game #1, the Monkeys – led by Chris Able's 442 series – fell just a little short in taking any more games away from the Mosque. Ground Zero's Scott Murdock put up a 433 series to help secure his team's 3rd place standing in their 3-1 matchup victory. Feed the Monkey remains in 7th.Only two bowlers started their pre-Thanksgiving celebration with some drinks at The 200 Club this week – David Codding (233) and Ken M. Wilson (200).For the full results of this week, please check out Season 22, Week 14.See you next Tuesday!
