Spring 2010 Week 9 Robo-RecapThe ninth week of Spring 2010 saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 202, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 525. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (233) and series (647). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 25 & 26: Bowlumpkin deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Led by Most Valuable Bowler AJ Taylor and his astonishing 503 series, Bowlumpkin celebrated a clean sweep over the Urban Achievers. In the meantime, Mitch Kempker dominated the Urban Achievers with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 502 despite his team getting swept. Bowlumpkin leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Urban Achievers remain in 8th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 27 & 28: Lil' Devils spent some quality time with The Prak Attack. Highlighting the skills of Andrea Caudillo with her above-average 443 series, Lil' Devils collected 3 wins against the Attack. On the adjacent lane, Shane Pfaffly called the shots for the Attack with his below-average 388 despite his team notching only a single win. Lil' Devils drop 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Attack remains in 7th.

On lanes 29 & 30: No Pinheads sparred with Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz. While headlined by Freda Schroeder with her 512 series, the Pinheads got swept by the Schlitz. As for the opposition, Bob Brunker oversaw the Schlitz with his 534 as they swept the competition. No Pinheads plummet 2 spots in the standings to 4th place, while the Schlitz moves 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 31 & 32: Empire Strikes Back chucked gutter balls with 3 Pin Moon. Demonstrating the prowess of #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Ken M. Wilson and his awe-inspiring 647 series, the Empire collected 3 wins against 3 Pin Moon. On the other half of the score sheet, Adam Messner commanded 3 Pin Moon with his above-average 579 despite his team notching only a single win. Empire Strikes Back leaps 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while 3 Pin Moon remains in 1st.

Bowlers ducking past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Adam Messner (201), Bob Brunker (201), Carl Goetz (214), Freda Schroeder (202), Ian Goetz (204,203), Ken M. Wilson (213,233,201), Mitch Kempker (212), Ryan Doll (223), and Scott Murdock (213)

New personal best series were rolled tonight by AJ Taylor (503, previous best 443) and Tiffany Schmidt (416, previous best 387).

Adding to the excitement, the 647 rolled by Ken M. Wilson is this season's new high series for men.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson spanked Division 1, while Angela Bradford mopped up Division 2. AJ Taylor eradicated Division 3, and Tiffany Schmidt vanquished Division 4. In terms of overall points: Bob Brunker calls the shots for Division 1; Brett Schroeder tops Division 2; Janelle (Laube) Lamar governs Division 3; and Lawrence Prak and Tiffany Schmidt dominate Division 4 in a tie.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 25&26, 1st-place 3 Pin Moon will spend some quality time with 2nd-place Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz (hcp 40). 3 Pin Moon is expected to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with the Schlitz; while the Schlitz is forecast to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 27&28, 3rd-place Empire Strikes Back will tussle with 4th-place No Pinheads (hcp 24). The Empire might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Pinheads ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 29&30, 5th-place Bowlumpkin will share a couple of pitchers with 6th-place Lil' Devils (hcp 16). Bowlumpkin will likely roll decently, but split the series with Lil' Devils; while Lil' Devils will probably raise their average while they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 31&32, 8th-place Little Lebowski Urban Achievers will challenge 7th-place The Prak Attack. The Urban Achievers are predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Attack is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
