Fall 2009 Week 9 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2009 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (164) and series (434) for the women. As for the men, Phil Schroeder snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by John Boren with a 577. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Quick Release chucked gutter balls with Rollin' J's. While headlined by Ryan Doll with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 486 series, Quick Release accomplished only 1 win against Rollin' J's. In the meantime, Jerry Krall called the shots for Rollin' J's with his dramatic 458 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Quick Release remains in 3rd place, while Rollin' J's jump 2 spots to 5th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 21 & 22: Sweep The Leg, Johnny tussled with WWJB. Highlighting the skills of John Boren with his 577 series, Sweep The Leg celebrated a clean sweep over WWJB. Concurrently, Rich Foster commanded WWJB with his above-average 458 despite his team getting swept. Sweep The Leg, Johnny remains in 1st place, while WWJB sinks 1 spot to 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: BOWLSH!T kept grabbing the balls of Split Happens. Blessed by Kelly Sands with his above-average 458 series, BOWLSH!T collected 3 wins against Split Happens. In the midst of this, James Long laid down the law in Split Happens with his above-average 520 despite his team notching only a single win. BOWLSH!T leaps 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Split Happens remain in 10th.

On lanes 25 & 26: BILFs sparred with Ebowla. Featuring Scott Murdock with his above-average 510 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Andee Weinfurt, BILFs celebrated a clean sweep over Ebowla. Across the ball return, Sarah Sauer oversaw Ebowla with her above-average 386 despite her team getting swept. BILFs remains in 4th place, while Ebowla plunges 2 spots to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: No Pinheads shared a platter of cheese sticks with Chicks With Balls. Reinforced by #1 Power-Ranked Phil Schroeder and his dazzling 555 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Andee Weinfurt, No Pinheads celebrated a clean sweep over the Chicks. As for the opposition, Tiffany Schmidt guided the Chicks with her wondrous 367 despite her team getting swept. No Pinheads remains in 2nd place, while the Chicks remain in 9th.

Bowlers bribing their way into The 200 Club include: David Codding (205), Derrick Grimpo (200), James Long (202), Jerry Krall (233), John Boren (214), Pat Searcy (214), Phil Schroeder (236), and Scott Murdock (203)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Jerry Krall (233, previous best 198).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Dennis Laube eradicated Division 1, while Brett Schroeder creamed Division 2. Andee Weinfurt mopped up Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Amanda Duncan came closest). Finally, Ali Fisher (Division 4) got the better of this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson governs Division 1; Brett Schroeder reigns over Division 2; AJ Hofmann calls the shots for Division 3; and Amanda Duncan is in the driver's seat in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Sweep The Leg, Johnny will battle 2nd-place No Pinheads (hcp 67). Sweep The Leg is expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while No Pinheads are forecast to drop their average a bit while endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Quick Release will tussle with 4th-place BILFs (hcp 76). Quick Release might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while BILFs ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Rollin' J's will meet with 8th-place Ebowla (hcp 365). Rollin' J's will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while Ebowla will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
  • Next up, on lanes 25&26, 6th-place WWJB (hcp 416) will roll against 7th-place BOWLSH!T. WWJB might watch their averages take a plunge as they get swept; while BOWLSH!T ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 45) will hang out with 10th-place Split Happens. The Chicks are predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Split Happens are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
