Spring 2009 Week 14 Robo-RecapThe fourteenth week of Spring 2009 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (223) and series (595) for the women. As for the men, Jason Carpio snagged this week's high game with a 232, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 655. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chico's Bail Bonds waged a heated competition against Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Showcasing #1 Head-to-Head David Codding and his spectacular 655 series, Chico's collected 3 wins against Schlitz. Countering this, #1 Power-Ranked Angela Bradford commanded Schlitz with her wondrous 595 despite her team notching only a single win. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Schlitz remains in 1st.

An irritated Kody waits for Russell to bowl.On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, Another Season kept grabbing the balls of XXX. Highlighting the skills of Cory Chorpenning with his above-average 598 series, Another Season celebrated a clean sweep over XXX. Across the ball return, Rich DeYoung oversaw XXX with his above-average 521 despite his team getting swept. Sh!t, Another Season remains in 5th place, while XXX remains in 10th.

On lanes 23 & 24: No Pinheads did battle with Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends. Topped by Dennis Laube with his 493 series, No Pinheads collected 3 wins against Wonder Friends. . With Wonder Friends forfeiting, all No Pinheads needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. No Pinheads remains in 4th place, while Wonder Friends sink 1 spot to 9th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Rule 6B sparred with Chicks With Balls. Demonstrating the prowess of Adam Messner with his above-average 460 series, Rule 6B celebrated a clean sweep over the Chicks. Conversely, Janelle (Laube) Lamar took the lead in the Chicks with her above-average 457 despite her team getting swept. Rule 6B remains in 3rd place, while the Chicks sink 1 spot to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Turkey Sandwich deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of WWJB. Blessed by Jason Carpio with his above-average 607 series, Turkey Sandwich collected 3 wins against WWJB. As for the opposition, Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster shined in WWJB with his outstanding 490 despite his team notching only a single win. Turkey Sandwich leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while WWJB remains in 6th.

Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (223,219), Carl Goetz (211), Cory Chorpenning (205,224), David Codding (224,224,207), Duncan Ferber (202), Jason Carpio (232,223), Ken M. Wilson (226), and Scott Murdock (221)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though David Codding came closest), while Rob Kaszuba mopped up Division 2. Janelle (Laube) Lamar clobbered Division 3, and Rich Foster spanked Division 4. Finally, Cory Chorpenning (Division 1) won this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; Phil Schroeder leads Division 2; Adam Messner calls the shots Division 3; and Deena Slinkard holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Sh!t, Another Season will spend some quality time with 7th-place Turkey Sandwich (hcp 120). Another Season is expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Turkey Sandwich is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 9th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 99) will hang out with 1st-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Wonder Friends might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Schlitz ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Rule 6B will compete against 10th-place XXX (hcp 68). Rule 6B will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while XXX will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Next up, on lanes 25&26, 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds will meet with 6th-place WWJB (hcp 180). Chico's might perform well and sweep the series; while WWJB ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 4th-place No Pinheads will chuck some balls with 8th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 107). No Pinheads are predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Chicks are anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
