The Spring 2007 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 465. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz and Pat Searcy, who tied with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Oily Balls accepted a challenge by T.B.D.. Featuring Pat Searcy with his 595 series, Oily Balls celebrated a clean sweep over T.B.D.. Across the ball return, Steve Kiernan guided T.B.D. with his 528 despite his team getting swept. Oily Balls begins the season in 1st place, while T.B.D. gets going with 10th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Doll's Balls hung out with Those 4 Bowlers. Headlined by Ryan Doll with his 487 series, Doll's Balls split the series with 4 Bowlers. On the flipside, Seth Gunderson laid down the law in 4 Bowlers with his 470 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls begins with 5th place, while 4 Bowlers commence the season with 6th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Unstoppabowl alternated splits with X9XX. Demonstrating the prowess of #1 Head-to-Head Cory Chorpenning and his 584 series, Unstoppabowl split the series with X9XX. On the adjacent lane, Dave Hickerson dominated X9XX with his 424 as they matched their opponent in wins. Unstoppabowl leaves the gate in 4th place, while X9XX starts off with 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Guttersluts chucked gutter balls with Churn and Burn. Reinforced by John Boren with his 518 series, Guttersluts collected 2.5 wins against Churn and Burn. Conversely, Jason Carpio commanded Churn and Burn with his 502 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Guttersluts gets underway in 3rd place, while Churn and Burn begins in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: King Pins waged a heated competition against Frickin' Ten Pin. In spite of top-billing by Daniel Bolton with his 376 series, King Pins accomplished only 1 win against Ten Pin. Countering this, #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz showed off in Ten Pin with his 595 as his team took the series with 3 wins. King Pins 9th place, while Ten Pin 2nd.
