The Fall 2006 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 192, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 502. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (222) and series (623). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 11 & 12: New Balls, Old Rack traded lane malfunctions with Guttersluts. Blessed by Ken M. Wilson with his 527 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. In the midst of this, Kris Hiestand dominated the Guttersluts with his 347 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack starts out in 4th place, while the Guttersluts get going with 9th.

On lanes 13 & 14: Hez-Bowl-lah alternated between bowling and dry humping All Belts Are Off. Despite the strength of Nik Domann with his 473 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the other half of the score sheet, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding shined in the Belt with his 623 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah begins the season in 6th place, while the Belt commences the season with 2nd.

On lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins kept grabbing the balls of TBD. Headlined by Carl Goetz with his 539 series, Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. Across the ball return, David Parre showed off in TBD with his 456 despite his team getting swept. Frickin' Ten Pins leaves the gate in 1st place, while TBD starts off with 10th.

On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl sparred with Bowlkake2. In spite of top-billing by Andy McLeod with his 435 series, Manute Bowl accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake2. In the meantime, Thomas Lin called the shots for Bowlkake2 with his 548 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Manute Bowl gets underway in 7th place, while Bowlkake2 begins in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter took turns kicking the ball return with Split Happens. In spite of the prowess of Ryan Doll with his 475 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. Conversely, Nick Allegri laid down the law in Split Happens with his 545 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter 8th place, while Split Happens 5th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 49) will test their mettle against 6th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Manute Bowl is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Hez-Bowl-lah is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
