The ninth week of Spring 2006 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (214) and series (502) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 279, and high series was earned by John Richardson with a 643. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! had a rendezvous with Guttersluts. Led by Jason Carpio with his 557 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over Guttersluts. On the other half of the score sheet, Travis Kleiner guided Guttersluts with his 363 despite his team getting swept. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Guttersluts remain in 8th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Sweeter Than Yoohoo did battle with Bora Bora. While headlined by Thomas Lin with his 566 series, Yoohoo accomplished only 1 win against Bora Bora. Countering this, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Richardson drew the spotlight in Bora Bora with his wondrous 643 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Sweeter Than Yoohoo remains in 5th place, while Bora Bora remains in 4th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Tatonka chucked gutter balls with Split Happens. Highlighting the skills of Will Jeter with his above-average 487 series, Tatonka collected 3 wins against Split Happens. On the adjacent lane, Ryan Doll reigned supreme in Split Happens with his above-average 508 despite his team notching only a single win. Tatonka remains in 7th place, while Split Happens sink 1 spot to 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bowl Movement couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Yo Mama. Featuring Carl Goetz with his 593 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. Concurrently, Andy Metzler showed off in Yo Mama with his 515 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Yo Mama remains in 6th.

Freda Schroeder earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 214 and 502, respectively.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Jason Carpio came closest), while Dennis Laube staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 2. John Richardson crushed Division 3, and Ben Lee creamed Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Jason Carpio and Stefan Miller (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz calls the shots for Division 1; David Codding holds the reins in Division 2; John Richardson tops Division 3; and Ryan Doll governs Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Yo Mama (hcp 7) will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place Split Happens. Yo Mama is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Split Happens are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Bowl Movement will face 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 220). Bowl Movement might roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Tatonka ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will match wits with 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo (hcp 26). The Belt will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to win the series; while Yoohoo will probably drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 188) will spend some quality time with 4th-place Bora Bora. Guttersluts are predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bora Bora is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
