The Spring 2006 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (173) and series (501) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 226, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 620. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Bowl Movement traded lane malfunctions with Yo Mama. With the strength of #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his 620 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. On the other side, Andy Metzler drew the spotlight in Yo Mama with his 471 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement leaves the gate in 2nd place, while Yo Mama starts off with 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka shared a platter of cheese sticks with Split Happens. Notwithstanding the leadership of Andy McLeod with his breathtaking 461 series, Tatonka accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the adjacent lane, James Long laid down the law in Split Happens with his 519 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Amy Logan) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Tatonka begins the season in 7th place, while Split Happens get going with 3rd.

On lanes 25 & 26: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! spent a romantic evening with Guttersluts. Highlighting the skills of Pat Searcy with his 524 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over Guttersluts. Concurrently, Erin deVries dominated Guttersluts with her 301 despite her team getting swept. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! starts out in 1st place, while Guttersluts commence the season with 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sweeter Than Yoohoo alternated between bowling and dry humping Bora Bora. Headlined by Thomas Lin with his 518 series, Yoohoo split the series with Bora Bora. Meanwhile, Dennis Laube ruled Bora Bora with his 588 as they matched their opponent in wins. Sweeter Than Yoohoo begins with 5th place, while Bora Bora gets rolling in 4th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 21&22, 8th-place Guttersluts (estimated hcp 272) will challenge 4th-place Bora Bora. Guttersluts are expected to splendid and win the series; while Bora Bora is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
