The ninth week of Spring 2005 saw three teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (199) and series (580) for the women. First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Handicrappers faced off against The Incredibowls. Even though highlighted by the skills of Amanda Schulte with her above-average 379 series, Handicrappers got swept by The Incredibowls. On the adjacent lane, Carl Goetz shined in The Incredibowls with his above-average 600 as they swept the competition. Handicrappers drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while The Incredibowls jump 2 spots to 6th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sub Parre couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Big Pin Pin. Blessed by Andy Metzler with his above-average 492 series, Sub Parre collected 3 wins against Pin Pin. On the other half of the score sheet, Brad Zollars guided Pin Pin with his above-average 446 despite his team notching only a single win. Sub Parre leaps 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Pin Pin sinks 1 spot to 7th.
On lanes 23 & 24: 4 Play chucked gutter balls with Bowlingstar Galactica. Reinforced by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Angela Bradford and her powerful 580 series, 4 Play celebrated a clean sweep over the Galactica. In the midst of this, Jason Carpio took the lead in the Galactica with his outstanding 569 despite his team getting swept. 4 Play leaps 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while the Galactica sinks 1 spot to 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: All Belt, No Buckle deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. Showcasing Nik Domann with his above-average 546 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Nellielocks. As for the opposition, Dennis Laube drew the spotlight in Nellielocks with his 506 despite his team notching only a single win. All Belt, No Buckle drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Nellielocks remain in 5th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (203,201), Demond Robinson (234), Jason Carpio (211), and Nik Domann (232)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz whipped Division 1, while Angela Bradford shut down Division 2. Scott Murdock staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 3, and Andrea Wilson vanquished Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; Michael Basham is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Freda Schroeder dominates Division 3; and Andrea Wilson holds the reins in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Nellielocks and the 3 Spares will chill with 8th-place Bowlingstar Galactica (hcp 11). Nellielocks are expected to perform well and sweep the series; while the Galactica is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 2nd-place All Belt, No Buckle will test their mettle against 1st-place 4 Play (hcp 36). The Belt might perform well and win the series; while 4 Play ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
