The fourth week of Spring 2005 saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (178) and series (502) for the women, while Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (234) and series (663) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: 4 Play chucked gutter balls with The Incredibowls. Highlighting the skills of #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Pat Searcy and his splendid 663 series, 4 Play celebrated a clean sweep over The Incredibowls. Conversely, Phil Schroeder ruled The Incredibowls with his above-average 465 despite his team getting swept. 4 Play remains in 1st place, while The Incredibowls plunge 3 spots to 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sub Parre sparred with Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. With top billing by David Parre with his 419 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Andrea Wilson, Sub Parre celebrated a clean sweep over Nellielocks. On the other half of the score sheet, Dennis Laube mastered Nellielocks with his below-average 495 despite his team getting swept. Sub Parre leaps 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Nellielocks plunge 3 spots to 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: All Belt, No Buckle spent a romantic evening with Handicrappers. Reinforced by Demond Robinson with his 494 series, the Belt split the series with Handicrappers. On the other side, Mark McClendon called the shots for Handicrappers with his 469 as they matched their opponent in wins. All Belt, No Buckle remains in 2nd place, while Handicrappers jump 2 spots to 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Big Pin Pin had a delightful time with Bowlingstar Galactica. Blessed by David Hayob with his powerful 515 series, Pin Pin collected 2.5 wins against the Galactica. Concurrently, Jason Carpio oversaw the Galactica with his above-average 517 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Big Pin Pin leaps 2 spots in the standings to 3rd place, while the Galactica remains in 8th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: David Hayob (227), Demond Robinson (212), Jason Carpio (207), and Pat Searcy (234,225,204)
A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Kris Hiestand (390, previous best 371).
Angela Bradford claimed the season's women's high series with her 502. In addition, Pat Searcy bagged the season's men's high series with his 663.
The 663 rolled by Pat Searcy is the new 8th-best series in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy cleaned up Division 1, while Seth Gunderson routed Division 2. Brad Zollars made quick work of Division 3, and Bart Smith mopped up Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy governs Division 1; Seth Gunderson calls the shots for Division 2; Brad Zollars leads Division 3; and Bart Smith is in the driver's seat in Division 4.

- First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Sub Parre (hcp 105) will meet with 2nd-place All Belt, No Buckle. Sub Parre is expected to perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Belt is forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
