By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2004 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The seventh week saw one team climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (163) and series (466) for the women, while James Long earned this week's high game (239) and series (598) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Recreation Intoxication did battle with Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers. Reinforced by Pat Searcy with his above-average 597 series, Recreation collected 3 wins against the Ninjas. Conversely, Dennis Laube reigned supreme in the Ninjas with his below-average 447 despite his team notching only a single win. Recreation Intoxication remains in 1st place, while the Ninjas sink 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Die Schlag-Maschinen had a rendezvous with Bowlkake. Even though highlighted by the skills of Mike Killion with his splendid 403 series, Die Schlag-Maschinen accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake. In the midst of this, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) James Long commanded Bowlkake with his miraculous 598 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Die Schlag-Maschinen remains in 7th place, while Bowlkake sinks 1 spot to 5th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Ashley Razabacks tussled with The Belt Strikes Back. With the Razabacks forfeiting, all the Belt needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, Nik Domann guided the Belt with his above-average 535 as they swept the competition. Ashley Razabacks remains in 8th place, while the Belt jumps 4 spots to 2nd.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: A Solid No. 2 traded lane malfunctions with Paul Hamms. Headlined by Eric Lynch with his 477 series, No. 2 collected 3 wins against the Hamms. Concurrently, Bill Krejci dominated the Hamms with his 542 despite his team notching only a single win. A Solid No. 2 drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Hamms sink 1 spot to 4th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Bob Brunker (236, previous best 234). The 239 rolled by James Long is tied for the 10th-best men's game in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy swept Division 1, while James Long routed Division 2. Mike Killion mopped up Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Ray Haynes came closest). In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy holds the reins in Division 1; Nik Domann dominates Division 2; Mike Killion reigns over Division 3; and Ray Haynes leads Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Recreation Intoxication will spend some quality time with 2nd-place The Belt Strikes Back (hcp 23). Recreation is expected to perform well and win the series; while the Belt is forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 5) will chuck some balls with 4th-place Paul Hamms. The Ninjas might perform well and win the series; while the Hamms ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Bowlkake will battle 6th-place A Solid No. 2 (hcp 29). Bowlkake will likely have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while No. 2 will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen will socialize with 8th-place Ashley Razabacks (hcp 374). Die Schlag-Maschinen is predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while the Razabacks are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
