Spring 2004 Week 5 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2004 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The fifth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (180) and series (507) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (266) and series (708) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Joey's B*tches waged a heated competition against The Bowling Stones. Led by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his powerful 708 series, the B*tches split the series with the Stones. On the other side, Michael Basham called the shots for the Stones with his staggering 456 as they matched their opponent in wins. Joey's B*tches leap 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Stones remain in 4th.

Brian Byfield's cross-lanes incident tonight might not have been quite this cool, but it was still impressive. On lanes 17 & 18: 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites had some one-on-one time with Recreation Intoxication. Featuring Dennis Laube with his 505 series, the White Asians celebrated a clean sweep over Recreation. Simultaneously, Angela Bradford commanded Recreation with her 507 despite her team getting swept. 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites remains in 1st place, while Recreation plunges 3 spots to 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: T.R.O.T.B. had a delightful time with Got Carpio?. Despite the strength of Scott Murdock with his astounding 502 series, T.R.O.T.B. accomplished only 1 win against Got Carpio?. Concurrently, Eric Lynch dominated Got Carpio? with his stupendous 560 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Jason Carpio) as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.R.O.T.B. remains in 6th place, while Got Carpio? jumps 2 spots to 3rd.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (266,246), David Codding (208), and Eric Lynch (206)

New personal high games were set tonight by Carl Goetz (266, previous best 260) and Amanda Schulte (170, previous best 155). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Carl Goetz (708, previous best 706) and Amanda Schulte (428, previous best 397).

Carl Goetz nabbed both high game and series for the men this season with his 266 and 708, respectively.

The 266 rolled by Carl Goetz is the new 2nd-best game in league history!
Carl Goetz SET THE NEW ALL-TIME HIGH SERIES WITH His 708! CONGRATULATIONS!

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place 2 Tall Asians, 2 Short Whites (hcp 53) will meet with 2nd-place Joey's B*tches. The White Asians are expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the B*tches are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Got Carpio? will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place The Bowling Stones (hcp 109). Got Carpio? might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Stones ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Recreation Intoxication will hang out with 6th-place T.R.O.T.B. (hcp 47). Recreation is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while T.R.O.T.B. is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
