The second week of Spring 2003 saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and four rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (158) and series (451) for the women. As for the men, David Parre snagged this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by Bob Brunker with a 589. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: The Good Sons had a delightful time with Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Led by Steve Robinson with his 396 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Michelle Tollefson, the Sons collected 3 wins against Mass Destruction. On the other half of the score sheet, Corey Weinfurt mastered Mass Destruction with his 460 despite his team notching only a single win. The Good Sons leap 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Mass Destruction sinks 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Spanked matched wits with Hulk Smash!. Notwithstanding the leadership of Bill Krejci with his above-average 536 series, Spanked accomplished only 1 win against the Hulk. On the adjacent lane, Carl Goetz called the shots for the Hulk with his below-average 501 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spanked plummets 2 spots in the standings to 3rd place, while the Hulk moves 1 spot to 5th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Top Guns tussled with Canned Crabs. Topped by #1 Head-to-Head Bob Brunker and his above-average 589 series, Top Guns celebrated a clean sweep over the Crabs. On the other side, Eric Lynch laid down the law in the Crabs with his 483 despite his team getting swept. Top Guns leap 2 spots in the standings to 2nd place, while the Crabs sink 1 spot to 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: D-Day deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of When Push Comes To Shove. Regardless of the star power of Demond Robinson with his 497 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. Simultaneously, #1 Power-Ranked David Codding showed off in the Shovers with his exceptional 587 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Shovers move 1 spot to 1st.
Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (236), Bob Brunker (214), David Codding (239), David Parre (246), and Pat Searcy (202)

NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Spanked will challenge 8th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 145). Spanked is expected to see a pretty significant "market correction" to their averages as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Crabs are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 6th-place D-Day will spend some quality time with 4th-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 24). D-Day might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Mass Destruction ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 5th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 100) will battle 1st-place When Push Comes To Shove. The Hulk will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Shovers will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Top Guns will chuck some balls with 7th-place The Good Sons (hcp 138). Top Guns are predicted to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while the Sons are anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
