The Spring 2003 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Four bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (172) and series (496) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (217) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: D-Day tussled with Top Guns. Blessed by Demond Robinson with his 496 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Nik Domann, D-Day split the series with Top Guns. In the midst of this, Pat Searcy commanded Top Guns with his 573 as they matched their opponent in wins. D-Day begins with 5th place, while Top Guns get going with 4th.
On lanes 19 & 20: When Push Comes To Shove couldn't stop inappropriately groping Canned Crabs. Led by Dennis Laube with his 523 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against the Crabs. In the meantime, Eric Lynch guided the Crabs with his 466 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove gets underway in 2nd place, while the Crabs commence the season with 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked shared a few beers with The Good Sons. Featuring #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin and his 593 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Sons. Across the ball return, Tracey Robertson called the shots for the Sons with her 344 despite her team getting swept. Spanked starts out in 1st place, while the Sons begin in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hulk Smash! alternated between bowling and dry humping Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Regardless of the star power of Carl Goetz with his 534 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against Mass Destruction. Simultaneously, Jarrod Guthrie drew the spotlight in Mass Destruction with his outstanding 474 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! begins the season in 6th place, while Mass Destruction gets rolling in 3rd.
Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: David Codding (200), Dennis Laube (213), Pat Searcy (204), and Thomas Lin (212,217)
New personal high games were set tonight by Dennis Laube (213, previous best 200), Jason Carpio (191, previous best 178), and Shannon Myers (150, previous best 148). - First, on lanes 17&18, 8th-place The Good Sons (estimated hcp 199) will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction. The Sons are expected to splendid and sweep the series; while Mass Destruction is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 1st-place Spanked will compete against 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 92). Spanked might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 4th-place Top Guns will test their mettle against 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 114). Top Guns will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the Crabs will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 5th-place D-Day (estimated hcp 27) will challenge 2nd-place When Push Comes To Shove. D-Day is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Shovers are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
